Project Objective: To design a space where students and/or Faculty can go to destress and find inner peace.

The ZenDen, situated within the University Center at The New School, is meticulously designed to offer students and faculty a tranquil haven for stress relief and inner peace. Nestled within the library, this sanctuary boasts an inviting oval shape, carefully chosen materials, and an architectural structure crafted with the specific purpose of providing a rejuvenating escape from the everyday hustle.

The ZenDen's oval configuration promotes a sense of harmony and balance, creating an embracing environment for individuals seeking solace. Thoughtfully selected materials contribute to a serene atmosphere, fostering a connection with nature and promoting a calming aesthetic. The architectural design of the space is curated to cater to those in need of a change of scenery, offering a respite from the demands of academic life.

Whether seeking a quiet moment of reflection, meditation, or simply a peaceful retreat, the ZenDen at the University Center serves as a purposeful sanctuary where both students and faculty can unwind, recharge, and discover moments of inner calm amid the academic landscape.
