UNDERGROUND LOUNGE

This project draws inspiration from a previous initial Interior Design Studio endeavor, which involved the transformation of a previously designed vessel into an intimate space tailored for two individuals. The room is strategically divided into three sections, each dedicated to providing a cozy setting where a couple can comfortably sit, lounge, or recline. The deliberate size of the spaces fosters an atmosphere of intimacy and privacy.

The design of the room prioritizes a subdued ambiance, achieved by minimizing the influx of external light. This intentional choice creates a setting where the mood can be carefully curated for the interior. The play of shadows becomes a crucial element in shaping this atmosphere, responding dynamically to light sources entering from various directions – left, right, center, or from above.

In this Underground Lounge, the careful orchestration of light and shadow not only contributes to the visual aesthetics but also plays a pivotal role in setting the desired mood. The result is an environment where every element, from spatial layout to lighting, is meticulously crafted to enhance the intimate and private experience for the occupants.
